Choosing a managed IT service provider means choosing a team your employees may rely on every day. Who follows up when a ticket stays open? Can they explain a security issue clearly? How much of the work will still fall to your internal IT team? Those details matter when you’re trusting someone else to keep the business running.
Before you start comparing providers, it helps to be clear about where you need support. You may want someone to handle everyday employee requests, bring in security expertise, or take over systems your team no longer has time to maintain. That scope shapes the questions you ask, from who owns an unresolved issue to how the provider will work alongside your existing IT staff.
This benchmark draws on customer experiences to help you compare 10 managed service providers (MSPs). It brings together customer ratings, project types, and technology environments so you can see how each provider’s reviewed work lines up with your needs.
The findings in this report come from 900+ approved G2 reviews of Managed IT Services providers, collected on October 2026. The data points come from the G2 Grid® Report for Managed IT Services (Fall 2026). I also reviewed their G2 Scores, satisfaction ratings, market presence, team expertise, and other relevant signals in the reviews to finalize this report. I have selected the providers that have at least 30 reviews on G2.
*The data above is based on G2's Fall 2026 Grid Report for the Managed IT Services category.
Based on verified G2 reviews, Interlaced IT Managed Services suits small and mid-sized organizations that want day-to-day user support. Cortavo is aligned with small organizations, particularly staffing, recruiting, and construction firms. Cygnus Systems Inc. IT Solutions fits law firms and insurance practices, the largest groups among its reviewers.
7 Layer Solutions is suited to organizations that want implementation and IT strategy from one provider, particularly in financial services, logistics, and private equity. Corsica Technologies fits mid-sized education, government, and nonprofit organizations that need system administration and security. Magna5 and Navisite Services stand out for modernizing legacy infrastructure.
Stratix Corporation is better supported for larger organizations planning implementation or strategy work. SHI fits buyers who want a provider with a broad market footprint and professional, communicative service. Growth Molecules, Customer Success serves software and IT services organizations that want training and implementation guidance.
| Managed IT services provider | What stands out | What buyers should examine | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| SHI | Reviewers rate the level of professionalism at 97%, sitting above the 96% category average, and the provider has a broader market footprint than most others in the category. | Ease of doing business (86%) and expertise of team (90%) trail the category averages, which suggests friction in the buying or onboarding process. Ask how contracts, onboarding timelines, and your day-to-day contact are set up before signing. | Buyers who want a provider with a broad market footprint and professional communication. |
| Stratix Corporation | Reviewers rate expertise at 96%, and team expertise at 96%. Most reviewers are from the enterprise market segment, so its experience skews to larger environments. | Most G2 reviewers work at much larger organizations than a small or mid-sized buyer. Ask for references from a company your size and one that staffs smaller engagements. | Larger organizations planning implementation or IT strategy work. |
| Interlaced IT Managed Services | The level of professionalism at 100%, ease of doing business with, and communication skills at 99% each are above category averages. User support is the most common project type. | Reviews show a modest market footprint. Ask about capacity for multi-site or larger environments and how coverage scales as you add users. | Small and mid-sized organizations that want day-to-day user support, including nonprofit, software, and legal clients. |
| Corsica Technologies | Reviewers come from education, government, and nonprofit organizations, and they would be likely to recommend Corsica Technologies at a rate of 90%. | The responsiveness rating (86%) trails the 94% average, and cost comes up in 21% of reviews. Ask for written response-time commitments and which services the base fee includes and which are billed separately. | Mid-sized organizations in education, government, and nonprofit settings that need system administration and security. |
| 7 Layer Solutions | Responsiveness (98%) and expertise (97%) ratings run above average, and trust and partnership language appears in 38% of reviews, which points to relationship-driven engagements. | The market footprint is modest, so fewer public references exist. Ask who staffs your engagement, how many engineers cover your account, and what after-hours coverage looks like. | Organizations that pair implementation with IT strategy, including financial services, logistics, venture capital, and private equity firms. |
| Growth Molecules, Customer Success | It has the largest review base in the category on G2, so its 99% ratings for expertise, responsiveness, professionalism, and communication skills are backed by strong evidence. | Reviewers describe training, implementation, and strategy engagements more than day-to-day IT operations. Ask whether helpdesk, monitoring, and patching are included in the scope and who staffs them. | Software and IT services organizations that want training and implementation guidance. |
| Cortavo | 97% of G2 reviewers are satisfied with the ease of doing business and communication skills, while 98% are satisfied with the level of professionalism. | Most reviewers are from companies that have 50 or fewer employees. Ask for references at your company size and how the team supports clients as their headcount grows. | Small organizations, including staffing and recruiting and construction firms. |
| Cygnus Systems Inc. IT Solutions | Satisfaction ratings for professionalism (96%) and ease of doing business (94%) match category averages. More than 40% of reviewers work in legal services. | Likelihood to recommend (87%) 93% category average, so some clients hold back. Ask legal and insurance references what they would change and how the provider handles escalations. | Law firms and insurance practices with small to mid-sized teams. |
| Magna5 | Reviewers pair expertise (93%) and responsiveness (92%) with legacy infrastructure and security work, which suggests infrastructure-heavy environments. | The market footprint is modest. Ask how services scale across multiple sites and which team members cover your legacy systems. | Mid-sized organizations with legacy infrastructure and security needs in education, healthcare, and financial services. |
| Navisite Services | A broad market footprint, with legacy infrastructure in 48% of reviews and implementation and security at 35% each, which points to infrastructure modernization projects. | Ease of doing business (88%) trails the 94% average, which suggests some friction in working with the provider. Ask how onboarding works, who your account contact will be, and how change requests are handled. | Mid-sized and larger organizations with infrastructure and implementation projects. |
Based on verified G2 reviews, Interlaced IT Managed Services leads clearly for day-to-day user support, while Corsica Technologies, Cortavo, and 7 Layer Solutions show evidence across support, system administration, and strategy work. Magna5 has the most specific evidence for infrastructure and network modernization, Stratix Corporation is the clearest match for device deployment, and Corsica Technologies is the clearest match for business application support.
No single provider leads across every project type, so evaluate partners on the specific work your project requires. The table below maps the project types that appear most consistently in G2 reviewer feedback for these managed IT service providers.
| Project type | What reviewers describe | Managed IT services providers with G2 review evidence | What to confirm before signing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Day-to-day user support and helpdesk | Hardware and software troubleshooting, laptop setup, password and permission changes, and end-user onboarding. Reviewers value same-day resolution and support embedded in tools such as Slack. | Interlaced IT Managed Services, Corsica Technologies, Cortavo, 7 Layer Solutions | Ticket response and resolution targets, after-hours coverage, and whether you work with the same technicians. |
| System administration, patching and security monitoring | Patching, group policy and domain management, 24/7 network monitoring, endpoint and managed detection tools, server backups and cybersecurity management. | Corsica Technologies, Interlaced IT Managed Services, Cortavo, 7 Layer Solutions | Patch schedules, monitoring hours, which security tools the fee includes, and how account staffing stays consistent when team members change. |
| Infrastructure and network modernization | Re-architecting infrastructure, moving from multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) to software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) connectivity, building a new Active Directory, tenant migrations and storage upgrades. | Magna5, Cortavo, 7 Layer Solutions | Cutover plan and downtime window, how scope is defined before work starts and who owns documentation afterward. |
| Fully outsourced IT and virtual CIO strategy | Providers acting as the full IT department, virtual chief information officer (vCIO) roadmaps and budget planning, security assessments with remediation roadmaps and support for added platforms such as enterprise resource planning (ERP). | 7 Layer Solutions, Corsica Technologies, Cortavo, Magna5 | Who builds the roadmap and budget, how often it is reviewed, and whether a dedicated contact stays on your account. |
| Device deployment and lifecycle services | Configuring and deploying tablets and technology carts, device-as-a-service programs, large device refresh projects, and repair logistics. | Stratix Corporation | Coverage across your locations, who handles returns and repairs, and how device-as-a-service pricing is structured. |
| Business application support | Supporting Sage 100 and 500 enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, integrating electronic data interchange (EDI) between divisions and trading partners, and ERP upgrades. | Corsica Technologies, 7 Layer Solutions | Experience with your specific application and who supports it after go-live. |
| Customer success training and platform implementation | Workshops and onsite training for customer success teams, and implementations of platforms such as Gainsight and Planhat. | Growth Molecules, Customer Success | Whether the scope covers your IT needs. Reviewers describe customer success work and do not describe helpdesk, monitoring, or infrastructure support. |
* Descriptions are grouped from reviewers' written answers and the project type each reviewer selected. Each reviewer selects one project type, so a selection is a loose signal for providers that deliver several services. The table reflects what reviewers describe and does not show the full scope of a provider's work.
Based on G2 reviews, Microsoft 365 and Azure work is described most often for Cortavo, Magna5, and 7 Layer Solutions, while Navisite Services, Magna5 and 7 Layer Solutions are tied to moves off aging servers and data centers. Security work appears across Navisite Services, 7 Layer Solutions, Magna5, Cortavo, and Corsica Technologies. Magna5 is also tied to network modernization, and Corsica Technologies to business applications.
Buyers want a partner who knows their environment and has moved companies off the setup they use today. Reviewers rarely name specific platforms, so the tables below show where evidence exists and where you will need to ask for references.
| Technology environment | What reviewers describe | Managed IT services providers with documented experience | Evidence depth |
|---|---|---|---|
| Microsoft 365 and Azure | Microsoft 365 administration and licensing, Exchange and tenant migrations, Intune device management, multifactor authentication rollouts, and email moves to Microsoft 365. | Cortavo, Magna5, 7 Layer Solutions, Navisite Services, Cygnus Systems Inc. IT Solutions | Moderate |
| Hosted and virtual desktops | Citrix desktops that reduce hardware costs and a move away from a virtual desktop provider. | Navisite Services, 7 Layer Solutions | Limited |
| Aging servers, data centers, and hosting | Moving off aging servers, reducing on-premises server infrastructure and hosting databases and applications in managed data centers. | Navisite Services, Magna5, 7 Layer Solutions | Moderate |
| Network | Moving from MPLS to SD-WAN connectivity, and cloud-managed Meraki networks and access points. | Magna5, Cortavo | Moderate |
| Security | Monitoring for attacks and malware, multifactor authentication rollouts, patching, and meeting security requirements. | Navisite Services, 7 Layer Solutions, Magna5, Cortavo, Corsica Technologies | Moderate |
| Backup and disaster recovery | Cloud and server backups, Commvault backups and disaster recovery sites with replication and failover. | Magna5, Navisite Services, Cortavo | Moderate |
| Business applications | Support for Sage 100 and 500 ERP systems, EDI integration and ERP upgrades. | Corsica Technologies, 7 Layer Solutions | Moderate |
| Active Directory | Designing a new Active Directory and managing an existing one. | Magna5, Corsica Technologies | Limited |
| Compliance frameworks | Support toward Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) requirements and a move to Government Community Cloud (GCC) High, with feedback that the provider had limited prior experience. | Cortavo | Limited |
The migration table below shows what G2 reviewers moved away from. Reviewers who switched from a previous MSP most often describe slow ticket resolution, support routed through outsourced teams that required repeat tickets, billing for project work and, in some cases, limited access to their own Microsoft 365 environment. Use the table to see where evidence exists and where you will need to ask for references.
| Moving from | Providers mentioned in reviews | Confidence |
|---|---|---|
| Another MSP or IT vendor | 7 Layer Solutions, Cortavo, Magna5, Interlaced IT Managed Services, Cygnus Systems Inc. IT Solutions | Moderate |
| A one-person IT team, a freelancer, or no internal IT | Corsica Technologies, Magna5, 7 Layer Solutions, Cortavo, Navisite Services, Interlaced IT Managed Services | Moderate |
| On-premises Exchange or another email platform to Microsoft 365 | Navisite Services, 7 Layer Solutions, Magna5, Cygnus Systems Inc. IT Solutions | Moderate |
| Aging on-premises servers or a company-run data center | Navisite Services, Magna5, 7 Layer Solutions | Moderate |
| A virtual desktop or disaster recovery provider | 7 Layer Solutions, Navisite Services | Limited |
| An MPLS wide area network | Magna5 | Limited |
| A shared tenant after a company separation | Magna5 | Limited |
The Confidence column shows how much G2 review evidence exists for moves from each setup. It doesn't measure a provider's overall migration capability. Moderate means three or more G2 reviews across at least two providers describe that move. Limited means one or two reviews, or reviews of only one provider. The tables are based on reviewers' written answers, grouped by theme.
Got more questions? G2 has the answers.
Cygnus Systems Inc. IT Solutions and Interlaced IT Managed Services. Legal firms are the largest group among Cygnus reviewers on G2, who describe fast responses and an email move to Microsoft 365 that ended recurring downtime. Interlaced has a higher responsiveness rating and a stronger recommendation score than Cygnus, with legal clients among its reviewers. Ask Cygnus references what they would change and how escalations are handled.
Cortavo, Cygnus Systems Inc. IT Solutions, Interlaced IT Managed Services, and 7 Layer Solutions. Small companies make up most of Cortavo's reviewers and a large share of the reviewers for the other three. Cortavo reviewers describe replacing freelancers or internal IT with one monthly bill, and Cygnus reviewers who reported contract length most often have no fixed term. Ask for cancellation terms and whether after-hours or project work carries extra charges.
Cortavo, 7 Layer Solutions, Magna5 and Corsica Technologies. Cortavo reviewers describe the provider taking over co-managed IT, including Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune and helpdesk. 7 Layer Solutions reviewers describe a co-managed partnership after an IT department restructure, Magna5 reviewers describe 24/7 helpdesk coverage that frees a one-person IT team, and Corsica Technologies reviewers describe the provider as a complement to in-house staff.
7 Layer Solutions, Cortavo, and Magna5 most often. G2 reviewers of these providers describe leaving a previous MSP over slow ticket resolution, outsourced support that required repeat tickets, and billing for project work. Cortavo reviewers also describe issues with ownership of and access to their own Microsoft 365 suite before switching, and 7 Layer Solutions reviewers describe the handover as organized.
Infrastructure themes appear most often in Navisite reviews, followed by Magna5 and 7 Layer. Navisite reviewers describe leaving company-run data centers for managed hosting, Magna5 reviewers describe replacing aging servers and moving from MPLS to SD-WAN with a disaster recovery site, and 7 Layer reviewers describe eliminating on-premises servers to avoid downtime.
Cortavo, Magna5, 7 Layer Solutions, Navisite Services, and Cygnus Systems Inc. IT Solutions. Cortavo reviewers describe Microsoft 365 administration, licensing, and Intune device management, and Magna5 reviewers describe Microsoft 365 migrations and multifactor authentication rollouts. 7 Layer reviewers describe Exchange and tenant migrations, while Navisite and Cygnus reviewers describe moving email to Microsoft 365. Reviewers rarely name specific platforms, so ask each provider for tenant migration references.
Navisite Services, 7 Layer Solutions, Magna5, Corsica Technologies and Cortavo. Security themes appear most often in Navisite, 7 Layer and Magna5 reviews, followed by Corsica and Cortavo. 7 Layer reviewers describe vulnerability management, incident response, a 24/7 security operations center (SOC), and penetration testing, and Magna5 reviewers describe 24/7 monitoring as part of a cybersecurity plan. Corsica reviewers describe endpoint and managed detection tools with security awareness training, and Cortavo reviewers describe antivirus and cybersecurity training.
Corsica Technologies, Interlaced IT Managed Services, and Magna5. Education, government, and nonprofit organizations are a large share of Corsica's reviewers; nonprofit and civic organizations are common among Interlaced's, and education and government organizations appear among Magna5's. Corsica reviewers describe system administration, security, and a vCIO for budget planning.
Healthcare reviewers appear for Magna5, Interlaced IT Managed Services, Corsica Technologies, 7 Layer Solutions, and Stratix Corporation. 7 Layer has the most financial services, insurance, and private equity reviewers, and Cygnus Systems Inc. IT Solutions has the most insurance reviewers.
Stratix Corporation first, then Navisite Services, 7 Layer Solutions, and Corsica Technologies. Stratix reviewers are mostly from large organizations, and the other three providers also include reviewers from large organizations. Stratix's evidence rests on a small review base, so ask for references from your own industry. Interlaced IT Managed Services and Cortavo reviewers come mostly from smaller organizations.
Cortavo reviewers describe no hidden or additional fees and project work included in the monthly price. Cygnus reviewers describe flat monthly fees without charges outside scope, though other Cygnus reviewers say the benefits do not match the price. Interlaced reviewers describe pricing below their previous vendor and below the cost of hiring in-house. Navisite reviewers name cost as the main drawback, and some 7 Layer reviewers note that smaller requests can be staffed with higher-cost resources.
Magna5, Corsica Technologies, 7 Layer Solutions, Navisite Services and Cortavo. Magna5 reviewers describe 24/7 helpdesk coverage and after-hours support, though some say after-hours response can be slow. Corsica reviewers describe round-the-clock network monitoring, and 7 Layer reviewers describe after-hours and weekend availability alongside a 24/7 SOC. Navisite reviewers describe 24/7/365 database and operations support, and Cortavo reviewers describe helpdesk response around the clock and on-site help over a holiday weekend. Ask for after-hours response targets in writing.
Corsica Technologies and 7 Layer Solutions. Corsica reviewers describe vCIO conversations about upgrade strategy and budget cycles and advise scheduling routine meetings. 7 Layer reviewers describe vCIO services, security assessments, and remediation roadmaps, though some say they want a dedicated, familiar contact. Ask who builds the roadmap, how often it is reviewed, and whether the same contact stays on your account.
Ongoing relationships are the most common, followed by shorter project engagements. Many reviewers who reported contract length have no fixed term or pay month to month, while Navisite and Magna5 reviewers more often report multi-year terms.
Start with what you need most. G2 reviewers spend the most time on responsiveness and team expertise, and the ratings reflect it. The category averages 94% on both, so small gaps matter less than a specific question you can test.
Next, match provider to project. Implementation, system administration, strategy, and user support each point to different names, and more than four in ten reviewers who reported contract length have no fixed term or pay month to month. That gives you room to run a short trial before you commit.
Ask for references and reports on stack-specific work, compliance attestations, and migrations directly, and keep your shortlist to two or three providers so you can compare their answers side by side.
Security often comes up next in a provider search, so compare the list of highly-rated managed security service providers (MSSPs) on G2.
