Picking the wrong Microsoft consulting partner costs you twice: you pay specialist rates for a generalist, or you fund a partner's learning curve on your own budget while your Dynamics 365, Power BI, Azure, or Microsoft 365 project slips. The work behind the Microsoft label varies widely, and the firm that moves your ledger into Business Central is rarely the one that tunes a Power BI model, locks down an Azure tenant, or manages your licensing renewals.
This benchmark is written for IT leaders, finance and operations teams, and anyone comparing Microsoft partners before a shortlist call. It compares ten providers in the Microsoft consulting services category using G2's Fall 2026 Grid Report for Microsoft Consulting Services and the project details in verified customer reviews, so you can match a partner to your Microsoft product, project type, and company size.
This Microsoft consulting services benchmark draws on 429 G2 reviews tagged to the category across 10 providers, with data pulled in October 2026.
The data above is based on G2's Fall 2026 Grid Report for the Microsoft Consulting Services category and covers the 10 providers profiled in this report.
Shaligram Infotech and Western Computer lead the Grid. Shaligram Infotech suits smaller firms that want Dynamics 365 bundled with custom development, and Western Computer suits mid-market teams moving to Business Central. Collectiv and Alta Vista Technology fit data and finance teams, while SHI and Coretek fit enterprise licensing and Azure security programs. The table below covers ten providers, ordered by G2 Score from the Grid report.
| Microsoft consulting services provider | What stands out | What buyers should examine | Best for |
| Shaligram Infotech | Grid Leader with a G2 Score of 97 and a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 96, against a category average of 80. Scores 99% for expertise of team and ability to execute (category averages 94%). G2 reviewers describe Dynamics 365, Azure, Microsoft 365, and Power BI work alongside artificial intelligence (AI) automation, system integration, and custom builds. | G2 reviewers say discovery and requirements sign-off take real time before a build starts. 21 of 28 reviewers tagged to the category are small businesses, so ask how the Microsoft team is staffed for larger programs. | Startups and small businesses that want Dynamics 365, Azure, or integration work from the same team that builds custom software, mobile apps, or AI tools. |
| Western Computer | Grid Leader with a G2 Score of 96 and the largest review base in the category (179 reviews in the Grid report). Scores 96% for level of professionalism, in line with the category average. G2 reviewers describe enterprise resource planning (ERP) migrations from QuickBooks to Business Central, hands-on training, post-go-live hypercare, upgrades, Power BI work, and managed IT support. | NPS of 77 sits just below the category average of 80. Some G2 reviewers mention that the project manager changes mid-project and that support is slower across time zones. | Small and mid-market companies, mostly in manufacturing, IT services, accounting, and construction, that are moving to Business Central or upgrading it, and want IT support from the same partner. |
| SHI | Grid Leader with a G2 Score of 80. Scores 98% for level of professionalism and 96% for communication skills, against category averages of 96% and 94%. G2 reviewers describe Microsoft licensing renewals, pricing they found to be lower than with their previous reseller, consolidated vendor billing, and device imaging. Reviews are also tagged to Azure (18) and Microsoft 365 (20). | G2 reviews center on licensing, procurement, and support, more than multi-month build projects. Ask which delivery team would own an implementation. | Mid-market and enterprise IT teams in manufacturing, healthcare, and construction that manage Microsoft licensing, renewals, and procurement through one partner. |
| Coretek - Data & AI | Grid Leader with a G2 Score of 69. Scores 99% for level of professionalism and 96% for ease of doing business, above category averages of 96% and 95%, and matches the category NPS of 80. G2 reviewers describe building a new Azure tenant with a security operations center (SOC) and network infrastructure, applying policies that restrict Copilot for a site security requirement, and modernizing Microsoft 365. | One G2 reviewer notes frequent upselling, and another notes slower engagement when engineers run parallel projects. Six of its 10 tagged reviewers are enterprise companies, so confirm team capacity for smaller engagements. | Enterprise and healthcare teams that need Azure build-outs, SOC monitoring, and Microsoft 365 or Copilot policy work from one partner. |
| Soluzione | Grid Contender with a G2 Score of 50. Scores 97% for ability to execute (category average 94%) and an NPS of 86. G2 reviewers describe Dynamics 365 Sales as a customer relationship management (CRM) solution that builds web portals connected to Dynamics CRM, Power Platform development, and bespoke applications. | Scores 88% for communication skills and 89% for expertise of the team, below category averages of 94%. G2 reviewers ask for stronger project status updates and user experience testing during delivery. | Small and mid-sized organizations, including buyers in Australia, North America, and Europe, that need Dynamics CRM customization, portals, or custom applications. |
| Dynamics eShop | Grid High Performer with a G2 Score of 48. Scores 99% for likelihood to recommend (category average 94%), communication skills (94%), and level of professionalism (96%), with an NPS of 95. G2 reviewers describe business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) commerce, payments, and customer portals that sync inventory, pricing, and orders with Business Central in real time. | G2 reviewers describe projects built on its own commerce and payments products rather than general Microsoft consulting. Confirm who supports the integration after go-live. | Business Central customers in retail, healthcare, and software that want B2B or B2C commerce, online payments, or customer portals tied to their ERP. |
| 7 Layer Solutions | Grid High Performer with a G2 Score of 44. Scores 100% for ease of doing business (category average 95%) and level of professionalism (96%), and 99% for expertise of the team (94%). Its NPS of 100 matches the highest in the category. G2 reviewers describe managed IT and cybersecurity, Azure and Microsoft 365 environments, and laptop onboarding and offboarding for remote teams. | One G2 reviewer wants more proactive technology suggestions during quarterly reviews. Its documented work is managed IT rather than ERP or CRM projects. | Small and mid-sized firms, including remote-first teams, that want Microsoft 365, Azure, and cybersecurity administration handled by an outside team. |
| Alta Vista Technology | Grid Niche provider with a G2 Score of 37. Scores 99% for expertise of team and level of professionalism (category averages 94% and 96%), with an NPS of 90. G2 reviewers describe Dynamics GP and Business Central ERP implementations, SQL database support, security updates, and business intelligence (BI) analytics in Power BI. | Alta Vista Technology also serves Sage Intacct buyers, and many of its reviews are tagged to that practice. Confirm which team would staff your Microsoft project. | Mid-market finance and operations teams in automotive, construction, and manufacturing that run Dynamics GP or Business Central and want analytics on top. |
| Collectiv | Grid High Performer with a G2 Score of 33. Scores 97% for likelihood to recommend and expertise of team (category average 94%), with an NPS of 92. G2 reviewers describe Power BI optimization and training, rebuilds in Microsoft Fabric and OneLake, security design for semantic data models, and training for Copilot and Copilot Studio. | G2 reviewers say training preparation and agendas could be more polished. Work centers on data and analytics rather than ERP or infrastructure. | Data and finance teams building, governing, or training users on Power BI and Fabric. |
| Innovia Consulting | Grid Niche provider with a G2 Score of 27. Scores 99% for likelihood to recommend, ease of doing business, and level of professionalism (category averages 94%, 95%, and 96%), with an NPS of 95. G2 reviewers describe a practice focused on Business Central and NAV, covering support, development, approval workflows, payment files, and Power Apps training. | One G2 reviewer notes slower response times for development work, and another says that seemingly simple issues can take longer and cost more than expected. | Mid-market manufacturers in food production, chemicals, and wholesale that want ongoing Business Central support and development from a specialist. |
The table above combines G2's satisfaction ratings from the Grid report with project themes from reviews tagged to the category. Category averages are 94% for likelihood to recommend, team expertise, and ability to execute; 95% for ease of doing business; 96% for level of professionalism; and an NPS of 80. We included providers that run hands-on Microsoft work for clients and have 10 or more reviews tagged to the category.
G2 reviewers describe six recurring project types. ERP migrations and upgrades point to Western Computer, Alta Vista Technology, and Innovia Consulting. Power BI and Fabric analytics point to Collectiv. Managed Microsoft 365 and Azure administration points to 7 Layer Solutions and Coretek. Commerce and portal integration with Business Central point to Dynamics eShop; CRM customization and custom applications point to Soluzione and Shaligram Infotech; and licensing points to SHI. No single provider leads every project type, so match the row to your project.
| Project type | Microsoft consulting providers with documented experience | What G2 reviewers describe |
| ERP implementation, migration, and upgrades | Western Computer, Alta Vista Technology, Innovia Consulting | QuickBooks to Business Central migrations with training and hypercare (Western Computer), Dynamics GP and Business Central rollouts with SQL support (Alta Vista Technology), and Business Central support, development, and approval workflows (Innovia Consulting). |
| Analytics and BI | Collectiv, Alta Vista Technology, Western Computer, Shaligram Infotech | Power BI report builds, training, and Fabric rebuilds (Collectiv), Power BI analytics on ERP data (Alta Vista Technology), Power BI support inside Business Central upgrades (Western Computer), and Power BI dashboards inside Dynamics 365 projects (Shaligram Infotech). |
| Managed IT, security, and cloud administration | 7 Layer Solutions, Coretek, Western Computer | Microsoft 365 and Azure administration with cybersecurity and laptop onboarding (7 Layer Solutions), an Azure tenant built with SOC and network work (Coretek), and IT infrastructure and cyber defense setup (Western Computer). |
| Commerce, payments, and portals on Business Central | Dynamics eShop, Soluzione | B2B and B2C stores with real-time inventory, pricing, and order data, plus online payments (Dynamics eShop), and customer portals connected to Dynamics CRM (Soluzione). |
| CRM customization and custom applications | Soluzione, Shaligram Infotech | Dynamics 365 Sales builds and Power Platform apps (Soluzione), and Dynamics 365 integrations with order systems, mobile apps, and AI automation (Shaligram Infotech). |
| Licensing and procurement | SHI | Microsoft license renewals, consolidated vendor billing, and device imaging. |
Fit depends on two things: the Microsoft product you run and the kind of company you are. The platform view shows how many G2 reviewers tagged each provider to each Microsoft product, and the company profile view shows who actually reviewed each provider.
For Dynamics 365, Western Computer has the largest base of tagged reviews, followed by Innovia Consulting and Alta Vista Technology. Collectiv, Western Computer, and Alta Vista Technology lead on Power BI. SHI and Western Computer lead on Azure, and SHI, Western Computer, and 7 Layer Solutions lead on Microsoft 365. The table below groups providers by the number of reviews each product tag has.
| Microsoft platform | Microsoft consulting providers with documented experience on G2 |
| Dynamics 365 | Deep: Western Computer, Innovia Consulting, Alta Vista Technology, Dynamics eShop, Soluzione, Shaligram Infotech. Emerging: SHI. |
| Dynamics 365 Enterprise | Deep: Western Computer. Solid: Shaligram Infotech, SHI. Emerging: Dynamics eShop. |
| Dynamics GP, NAV, AX, and SL | Deep: Western Computer, Alta Vista Technology. Solid: Innovia Consulting, Dynamics eShop. Emerging: Shaligram Infotech. |
| Power BI | Deep: Collectiv, Western Computer, Alta Vista Technology. Solid: SHI, Shaligram Infotech. Emerging: 7 Layer Solutions, Soluzione, Coretek. |
| Azure | Deep: SHI, Western Computer. Solid: 7 Layer Solutions, Coretek, Shaligram Infotech. Emerging: Dynamics eShop, Soluzione, Alta Vista Technology, Collectiv, Innovia Consulting. |
| Microsoft 365 | Deep: SHI, Western Computer, 7 Layer Solutions. Solid: Coretek. Emerging: Shaligram Infotech, Collectiv. |
Deep means 10 or more reviews for the provider are tagged to that Microsoft product. Solid means four to nine tagged reviews, and Emerging means one to three. Tags are based on the product areas G2 reviewers selected when reviewing a provider's Microsoft consulting services.
Microsoft runs its own program to sort partners by capability. Its Solutions Partner program has six designation pathways, and a partner earns one by scoring at least 70 of 100 points across performance, skilling, and customer success. Skilling counts the people on staff who hold Microsoft certifications, such as Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Data Analyst Associate, or Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate, so a designation signals both certified people and measured customer results.
G2 reviews add the other half: what each provider delivered for buyers like you. The table maps each Microsoft product in this report to its pathway and shows which providers have the most G2 reviews tagged to that product.
| Microsoft product in this report | Solutions Partner pathway | Providers with documented experience on G2 |
| Dynamics 365 and Business Central | Business Applications | Western Computer, Innovia Consulting, Alta Vista Technology, Dynamics eShop, Soluzione, and Shaligram Infotech (all Deep on the Dynamics 365 tag) |
| Power BI and Microsoft Fabric | Data & AI (Azure) | Collectiv, Western Computer, and Alta Vista Technology (all Deep on the Power BI tag) |
| Azure infrastructure and migrations | Infrastructure (Azure) | SHI and Western Computer (Deep), plus 7 Layer Solutions, Coretek, and Shaligram Infotech (Solid) |
| Power Platform apps, custom builds, and GitHub Copilot | Digital & App Innovation (Azure) | G2 reviewers describe Power Platform apps at Soluzione, custom builds at Shaligram Infotech, and GitHub Copilot training at Collectiv |
| Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams | Modern Work | SHI, Western Computer, and 7 Layer Solutions (Deep on Microsoft 365); SHI and 7 Layer Solutions (five tagged Teams reviews each) |
| Security operations and cybersecurity | Security | G2 reviewers describe a SOC build at Coretek, cybersecurity management at 7 Layer Solutions, and cyber defense setup at Western Computer |
Microsoft also publishes specializations that sit on top of each pathway, including three for Microsoft Teams under Modern Work. So ask any shortlisted partner which designations and specializations it holds for your product, then check that G2 reviewers describe the same work. For Microsoft Teams consulting services, SHI and 7 Layer Solutions each have five G2 reviews tagged to Teams. For Microsoft Copilot consulting services, G2 reviewers describe Collectiv training teams on Copilot and Copilot Studio, and Coretek applying Copilot access policies.
Small businesses and startups account for most of the reviewers for Shaligram Infotech and Soluzione. Mid-market companies account for the majority of reviewers for Western Computer, Alta Vista Technology, Innovia Consulting, and 7 Layer Solutions. Coretek and SHI draw the largest share of enterprise reviewers, while Collectiv and Dynamics eShop draw from both small and mid-market firms. The table below shows the full mix for each provider.

Company size counts follow the order small business (50 or fewer employees), mid-market (51 to 1,000 employees), and enterprise (more than 1,000 employees). Counts come from reviewer details on reviews tagged to the category, and not every reviewer reports every detail.
Shortlisting a Microsoft consulting partner? These answers can help you find the right match for your team.
Western Computer has the strongest record here. G2 reviewers describe QuickBooks to Business Central migrations with hands-on training, hypercare after go-live, and finance teams that now handle customer and vendor payments in one system. Alta Vista Technology is another option for finance-led ERP work. Ask for a reference with a similar transaction volume and the same close calendar, and confirm who will stay on the project, since some G2 reviewers mention a project manager change mid-project.
Collectiv stands out for this work. G2 reviewers describe Power BI report optimization, data structure rebuilds in Fabric and OneLake, security design for semantic data models, and training for report builders. Western Computer and Alta Vista Technology also have documented Power BI work. Ask for a sample governance model and a training agenda, since some G2 reviewers want training sessions planned in more detail.
Coretek fits best. G2 reviewers describe building a new Azure tenant with security operations center (SOC) and network infrastructure, and healthcare is the most common reviewer industry for Coretek on G2. 7 Layer Solutions also covers Azure alongside cybersecurity. Ask each partner for references that match the healthcare privacy or defense contractor rules you must meet.
7 Layer Solutions is the closest match. G2 reviewers describe it as managing IT and cybersecurity for a remote-first firm with hundreds of employees, including laptop setup, employee offboarding, and Azure and Microsoft 365 environments. Coretek and Western Computer also support Microsoft environments. For Microsoft Teams consulting services, SHI and 7 Layer Solutions each have five G2 reviews tagged to Teams. Ask about the quarterly review process, because one G2 reviewer wants more proactive technology recommendations.
Dynamics eShop is the most direct fit. G2 reviewers describe business-to-business and business-to-consumer stores, payments, and portals that sync customer, inventory, pricing, and order data with Business Central. G2 reviewers describe their own commerce platform, so ask whether you would run that platform or a custom integration, and who supports it after go-live.
Soluzione has the most relevant work on record. G2 reviewers describe a Dynamics 365 Sales build, a portal connected to Dynamics CRM with controlled access, and Power Platform work, and one reviewer praises it for not overcommitting on customizations. G2 reviewers also ask for stronger project status updates and user experience testing, so name a project manager and a testing step in your scope.
Shaligram Infotech suits this profile. G2 reviewers include a startup founder and a chief technology officer without an in-house engineering team, and they describe Dynamics 365, Azure, Power BI, mobile, and AI work. G2 reviewers also say discovery and requirements sign-off take time before building starts, so plan for that stage.
SHI is the clearest choice. G2 reviewers describe Microsoft licensing renewals, pricing they found lower than with their previous reseller, consolidated vendor billing, and device imaging; healthcare and manufacturing are among the most common industries for G2 reviewers. Request a side-by-side quote for your agreement type and compare it with your current reseller's renewal price.
Innovia Consulting is the specialist to start with. G2 reviewers describe a practice focused on Business Central and NAV, covering support, development, approval workflows, payment files, and training, and food production and chemicals are its most common G2 reviewer industries. G2 reviewers note slower response on development work, so ask for response-time commitments in your service agreement.
Alta Vista Technology matches this setup. G2 reviewers describe Dynamics GP and SQL database support, ERP implementations, and Power BI analytics, and automotive and construction are its most common G2 reviewer industries. Alta Vista Technology also serves Sage Intacct buyers, so confirm which team would staff your Microsoft project.
For Microsoft Copilot consulting services, Collectiv has the most relevant work on record. G2 reviewers describe Copilot training that includes GitHub Copilot and AI agents built through Copilot Studio to automate tasks. G2 reviewers also describe Coretek applying policies that restrict Copilot on a security-sensitive site. Ask for a sample governance policy and the access rules a partner would set before agents go live.
Coretek and SHI draw the largest share of enterprise G2 reviewers, with six of 10 and six of 11 G2 reviewers who reported company size. G2 reviewers describe Azure tenant, security operations, and network work for Coretek, as well as licensing renewals and procurement for SHI. Ask each for a reference at your company size, since both also serve mid-market buyers.
Start with Soluzione and Shaligram Infotech. G2 reviewers for Soluzione come from Australia, New Zealand, Hungary, Spain, and the United Arab Emirates, and G2 reviewers for Shaligram Infotech come from India, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Australia, and South Africa. One G2 reviewer mentions after-hours calls because of time differences, so confirm overlap hours before you sign.
Western Computer has the most evidence for this. G2 reviewers praise its responsiveness during Business Central upgrades and describe consultants who stayed on for years, though some mention project manager handoffs that created duplicate meetings. G2 reviewers also cite Innovia Consulting's quick attention to issues. Ask for a named backup contact and a written handoff process.
7 Layer Solutions scores 100% for ease of doing business and 99% for communication skills, and Dynamics eShop scores 99% for both, against category averages of 95% and 94%. G2 reviewers describe plain-language explanations from teams including Shaligram Infotech, Innovia Consulting, and Western Computer. Ask for reference calls with non-technical staff.
Shaligram Infotech ranks first on G2's Fall 2026 Grid Report for Microsoft Consulting Services with a G2 Score of 97, ahead of Western Computer at 96 and SHI at 80. G2 reviewers point to responsive teams, consultants who stay on a project, plain-language explanations, and support after go-live as what builds that trust. CIOs and IT leaders can test those traits in reference calls by asking who staffed the work and how issues were handled after launch.
Rates depend on the project type, the roles staffed, and how much support continues after go-live. G2 reviewers of SHI describe pricing lower than with their previous reseller, while G2 reviewers of Innovia Consulting say issues that look simple can take longer and cost more than expected. Ask each shortlisted partner to price the same scope, with named roles, fixed-fee or hourly billing, and post-go-live support spelled out.
Every partner on your shortlist can name a client who loved working with them. That is the call they will set up for you, and it tells you very little about what your own project will feel like. Ask for a reference that matches your Microsoft product, company size, and project type, and ask for one that has hit a rough patch.
G2 reviewers across these providers describe where rough patches tend to occur, including project manager handoffs, lengthy discovery before a build, slower response times for development work, and upselling after go-live. Turn each into a question for the reference. Ask who staffed the work, whether the team from the sales process was the team that delivered, and what happened when a contact changed mid-project.
Keep the answers beside the scores, not under them. A Grid Leader and a Niche provider can both be the right fit when the reference’s platform, project, and team size look like yours, and a high score earns the call rather than replacing it.
Licensing often sits alongside consulting, and several providers above also sell Microsoft licensing, so compare Microsoft resellers on G2 before you negotiate.
